Employee Success
An Arc of Southern Maryland professional Employment Specialist meets with an individual to explore options and goals. They then work to find the right job placement and provide on-site job training and long-term follow-up services as needed to assure success for all.

Right from the beginning, The Arc of Southern Maryland Employment Specialist accompanies the new employee on the first day of work. This assures that 100% of the job gets done in compliance with the employer’s standard of quality!

What other supports are provided?
Once the employee has completed training and can complete the assigned tasks to the satisfaction of the employer, the Employment Specialist is not finished. The specialist becomes a job coach continuing to provide support, watching the employee’s progress and addressing any concerns of the employee or the employer.

Employer Success
At The Arc we know entry level positions are critical to the successful operation of a business. It is necessary to have employees who are serious about their jobs and who take pride in their work. We assure that through careful job matching and ongoing support.

Who are the employees?
Extreme care is taken in matching the right employee with the right job in order to assure success for all involved. Many factors are carefully considered when matching an individual to a suitable position within a business, including: job duties, skills of the potential employee, availability of transportation, hours and location, and the employer's expectations.

Our support begins with a dedicated Employment Specialist … An Arc of Southern Maryland professional Employment Specialist meets with an individual to explore options and goals. They then work to find the right job placement and provide on-site job training and long-term follow-up services as needed to assure success for all. We even accompany the employee on the first day of work and any other days as required.

And continues … Once the employee has been trained and can complete the assigned tasks to the satisfaction of the employer, the Employment Specialist is not finished. The specialist will continue to provide support by following up on the employee's progress and addressing any concerns either the employee or the employer might have.

How do we measure success?
The GOAL of the Arc's program is to provide employer and employee satisfaction. Success is measured when the job is done to the EMPLOYER'S standard of excellence.
