Community Resource Center

A 21st century prototype of community inclusiveness for children and adults, with intellectual and developmental disabilities.  The Community Resource Center, located in central Calvert County, is a multi-functional building designed to accommodate and support customers of The Arc and residents of the greater Southern Maryland community.  Click here for rental rates.

Built in 1986, the Prince Frederick building was a sheltered workshop for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.  During that time, consumers manufactured crab pots and sold them to local vendors and fishermen throughout the Southern Maryland region.  Although the building provided a vital service, it segregated participants from the rest of the community.

The New Community Resource Center was designed to build a stronger and more inclusive community for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities throughout Southern Maryland.  The mixed used floor plan includes over 13,000 sq. ft. dedicated for The Arc’s Day Support services, recreational & community socialization program, while housing the agency’s administrative offices.
